With all of these Minion parties popping up, I think it’s time I finally see these Despicable Me movies (I know, I know — how have I not?!) It’s easy to love all of the details Aline Menezes of Pink Atelie de Festas put into this One in a Minion Birthday Party though, even without having seen the movies. From Gru’s office, complete with “World’s Best Dad” mug, to the Box of Shame & ‘food’ left out for the kids, there are so many thoughtful & beautifully executed details that no minion could resist!

I made this Despicable Me Minion birthday party for Luca, a boy who is a huge fan of the movies. My goal was that he recognized lots of details from the film and that he felt transported. I tried not to limit the decor only to the Minions, bringing the other characters, like the villain Gru, his girlfriend Lucy, his assistant and the orphaned girls. I also created Gru’s office, complete with some of his possessions. In the choice of colors, I tried to avoid the traditional blue and yellow palette that is always used in this theme and tried to make everything a bit more colorful.
