How to Personalize Halloween Candy Jars
Want to make your Halloween candy jars MORE fun?
There’s one simple trick that makes ALL the difference. Add personalized candy labels!
In addition to instantly making the jars look more stylish, personalized labels allow you to give your candies clever, themed names.
Here’s some visual proof:
Creative Candy Names
To create clever names for your candies:
- Think about elements from Halloween that your candy’s shape or color resembles.
- Use alliteration, adding a Halloween-themed word that starts with the same sound. (Example: Cauldron Cookies)
Here are these candies with their *new* names:
- Black Licorice = SPIDER LEGS
- Twisty Lollipops = TWISTED LOLLIPOPS
- Oreos = CAULDRON COOKIES
- Mellowcreme Pumpkins = CANDY PUMPKINS
- Reese’s mix = REST IN PIECES
See how even the simplest treats get more fun with a creative name?!
The lollipop name was only a 2-letter change, but I felt like TWISTED definitely sounded more Halloween than TWISTY. ;)
These Mellowcreme Pumpkins look a little BORING in a plain jar, don’t you think?! Let’s fix that:
MUCH BETTER!! ;)
Typesetting the Labels
Another thing to consider when choosing a new name for your candy is how the name will fit on the label.
Typeset labels look best with one word MUCH larger than the other, so I often consider this as well.
Let’s take CANDY PUMPKINS, for example. This name isn’t a significant change from the original, but it allowed me to display the shorter word CANDY big and bold since “pumpkin” already needed to be small to fit.
If I were using these Mellowcreme Pumpkins in a more scary-themed candy buffet, I would probably have used a word like POISON or ROTTEN instead of CANDY. (MAGIC would’ve been another good choice for this one, though!)
