Rustic & Homemade Apple of My Eye Baby Shower
For this Apple of My Eye Baby Shower, the mommy-to-be said she wanted something with a homemade, rustic feel, so that is exactly what Linsey Herrera of Lux Events and Design delivered! I love all the touches of vintage decor (how cool is that green dessert table bureau!) as well as all of the handmade decor, like the chalkboard kitchen cupboard welcome sign and darling seersucker cake topper. And of course there are bunches of bright green apples everywhere… I bet you’ll never look at a simple basket of green apples the same way again after scrolling through these lovely pics! ;)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Rustic wooden palette dessert table backdrop with a hand-painted apple design
- Adorable Granny Smith apple ‘dessert card holders’ embellished with twine
- Caramel & fondant apple topped ‘candy bar cupcakes’, mini apple pies & fruit cheesecake parfaits
- ‘Guess That Baby Food’ game and ‘design your own onesie for baby’ activities for the guests
- Wooden bushel filled floral centerpieces + caramel apple party favors accented with twine & a baby clothespin
PARTY DETAILS as told by Linsey…
This shower was created with the theme “Apple of My Eye” because that is what every baby is to their parents. Parents hold their babies above all other, above everything. I was hired by the dad to plan a baby shower for his wife. The mommy-to-be wanted a shower with a handmade, rustic feel and that’s exactly what we delivered!
I decided that apples went so well with the season and came up with the theme “Apple of My Eye.” Mom to be loves green apples so they were our inspiration throughout the event. Each table was adorned with brown striped linens and topped with flowers and baskets full of apples. Each guest was given a caramel apple as a party favor that was packaged in a kraft paper box and trimmed with a baby closepin and tag.
Guests dined on pulled pork & brisket sandwiches. The mom to be is obsessed with The Sweet and Saucy Shop, as are we, so we chose an array of goodies from them for the guests to dine on. The cupcakes were topped with fondant apples and little mini seersucker flags. The cake was topped with a wooden apple and seersucker bunting. A custom apple graphic was hand painted on an old fence and used as part of the dessert table backdrop.
