IDEA

I think that as moms, most of us tend to neglect ourselves in our pursuit of caring for our families. So I decided to throw a little event to bless my hard-working mom friends (and let’s be honest, myself too). I partnered with Monika from Hello Brielle to put on a Pamper Momma Spa Party, and I know we were both thrilled with how it turned out. We each invited 3 friends, for a total of 8 people.

PAMPER STATIONS

Our afternoon consisted of a healthy lunch, followed by 3 “pamper stations” that each mom could participate in: manicures, pedicures, & facials. Each station accommodated 2-3 moms and lasted approximately 30-45 minutes; after that time, we all rotated to a new station. Monika and I tried to cover every detail for our friends by providing all of the pampering products, instructions and product information, towels, washcloths, hair ties & bands, nail polish, hot towels. We even attempted a hot rock therapy, though none of us really knew what we were doing with it. The favor was a manicure kit each mom could use at the party; we also gave everyone a 4-pronged massager so they could continue their experience at home.

FOOD, DRINKS & DESSERT

Monika and I wanted to enjoy this event along with our friends, so we chose to serve food that wouldn’t be a lot of work for us. We were able to prepare everything the day before and finish assembly or simply lay out right before everyone arrived. We stayed healthy with a wine county salad, green fruit cups, and cucumber feta cups. For dessert we served Green Tea Mochi and Mint Chocolate Chip Meringues from World Market. We also served a number of drinks, including “spa water” (water with cucumber, lime and mint), green tea, green juice (kale, spinach, cucumber, & apple), and mojitos. We wanted to make sure everyone was properly hydrated. =)

DECOR

As for decor, we wanted the moms to feel like they were walking into a spa. We played nature/spa type music on Pandora. I have a bamboo candle from Bath & Body Works that smelled perfect for the occasion. We used lots of river rocks, bamboo and raffia (I especially love the bamboo forks I found at Party City!), as well as orchids and bamboo plants. All of the printables (invitation, food cards, instruction sheets, station signs, water bottle labels, favor tags, etc.) were designed by Monika at Hello Brielle. The awesome “Relax” sign was custom made to match our printables by my friend, Sarah, over at Cardboard Sheek. I made the river rock backdrop. Our sweet and wonderful photographer was Emily Magers. We found her at the very last minute and are so thankful for all the beautiful work she did.

I tried to be as thrifty as possible in throwing this event. In the end, total cost for the event, including food, decoration, and favors was just under $150. I used a number of items I already had on hand, including all the products we used, the chinese lanterns, my bamboo plant, and some of the river rocks. Hello Brielle donated the printables, Cardboard Sheek donated the “Relax” sign. My biggest expense was the orchids, but mostly because two of them died the day before the event and I had to run out to grab more.

The great thing about this type of event is that it does not need to be limited to moms. It would also work wonderfully as sweet 16 birthday party, a bachelorette party, an adult birthday party, or just a party for a bunch of girls wanting to spend time together.
