PARTY DETAILS as told by Beverley…
For my daughter’s sixth birthday, we thought it would be a great idea to turn her playroom (normally set up as a kitchen) into a Doc McStuffin’s clinic. I packed up all of her usual toys and replaced them with glittery medicine bottles, doctor tools, a photo prop “X Ray” and canisters filled with medical supplies. I grabbed a filing cabinet my my office and hung some cute Doc themed printables I found online. I also sized down scrub tops and my husband even ordered some extra small hot pink latex gloves for the guests to wear!
Food:
We kept it pretty simple for the savory snacks (sandwich slices, chips and veggies), but went ALL OUT for the dessert table. Doc themed sweets included cookie “bandages”, jello cup “cough syrup”, pretzel rod “thermometers”, candy “vitamins” and “medicine”, frosting-filled syringes, cotton candy “stuffin” and marshmellow “cotton balls”. I hung paper fans, lanterns & poms to highlight the table and even made a custom Doc doll for my daughter. Oh, and the cake and cupcakes – a Doc topped cake and Lambie cupcakes were custom made for the event. Not only did they look good, but they tasted awesome!
Favors:
Each guest was equiped with a Doc inspired headband and Book of Boo Boos, as well as a patient file. And as a parting favor, each of the little “doctors” received their own doctor kit in a sparkly pink zip pouch.
What made this event so special, is that is was like one big play date!
